Mrs. Martha M. Chapla, 44, of 25171 State Rd. 2, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in Osteopathic Hospital after a one-week illness. Born May 20, 1926 in South Bend, as Martha Golubski, she married Chester J. Chapla on Oct. 30, 1946. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Chester Jr. and Christopher, and two daughters, Miss Katherine Mary and Miss Mary Ann, all of South Bend; four brothers, Frank, Sylvester, Leo, all of South Bend, and Stanley of Detroit, and three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Thomas, Mrs. Anna Mason and Mrs. Francis Borowski, all of South Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Rev. Joseph Lesniak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
