Archibald Rex LaDow, 84, of Rivers Edge Court., Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an illness at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in Hospice House, South Bend, Ind. He was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Mishawaka, to Byrl and Marea (Hatfield) LaDow. On Nov. 18, 1941, he married the former Helen L. Claeys in Mishawaka. She survives. He is also survived by a son, David L. (Stephanie) LaDow of Mishawaka; a daughter, Deborah L. (David) Pruis of Lakeville, Ind., his grandchildren, Amie and Andrew LaDow, and Jamie, Jonathan and Jennifer Pruis; two sisters, Frances (Robert) Kuhl of Port Isabell, Texas, and Sharon (Robert) Kyle of Mishawaka; and a brother, Lee (Beverlee) LaDow of Mishawaka.
Mr. LaDow was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Uniroyal Corporation in 1974 after 36 years of service. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, in East United Methodist Church, 1621 East Third Street, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the East United Methodist Church; or to Hospice House of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. The Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, is in charge of arrangements.
