MISHAWAKA - Helen L. LaDow, 97, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Southfield Village. Helen was born on September 22, 1918, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Frank C. and Susie (Behny) Claeys. On November 18, 1941, in Mishawaka, Helen married A. Rex LaDow, who preceded her in death on May 19, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack C. Claeys. Helen is survived by her children: David (Stephanie) LaDow of St. Charles, Illinois, Deborah (David) Pruis of Lakeville, Indiana, and her beloved grandchildren, 5 grands and 10 great-grands. She is also survived by four sisters-in -law and many nieces and nephews. Helen worked as an executive secretary at the Wheelabrator Corporation until her retirement. She was a member of the East United Methodist Church in Mishawaka where she taught Sunday School for many years. Helen enjoyed reading, traveling and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and looked forward every season to watching her Chicago favorites, the Cubs and the Bears. The family would like to thank the staff at Southfield Village for the compassionate care and kindness our mother received while she was a resident there. Per Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, Indiana.
