NORTH LIBERTY - Bert L. Rudynski, 89, formerly of North Liberty, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Sept. 2, 2009, in South Bend after an extended illness. He was a retired storekeeper at the Bendix Corp., where he worked for 30 years. He was born in South Bend, Sept. 28, 1919, and lived most of his life in North Liberty. He was married July 18, 1942 in Roseland to Clara Arlen Ulrich. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1991. He is survived by two daughters, Marti (Dan) Bridgwater of west Minister, MD, Jeanne (Patton) Philotoff of South Bend; three sons, Ted (Diana) of Kingsbury, Stephen (Joanne) and David (Rosa), both of North Liberty; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Frazier of south Bend, Betty Shrader of Mishawaka; and a brother, Louis of New Carlisle. Mr. Rudynski was a member fo the North Liberty United Methodist Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, and officiated by Jan Dimick, pastor. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009, in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty and from 10 a.m. Monday until time of services in the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
