Mrs. Walter Nowicki: (South Bend Tribune 1/2/1945)
Mrs. Josephine Nowicki, aged 69, of 822 Pulaski street, died at 7:10 a.m. today after a days illness in her home. She was born in Poland March 10, 1875, and came to South Bend from that country 52 years ago. In January 1893, she was married to Walter Nowicki, who survives. Also surviving are six sons, John, Michael, Valentine, Leo and Edmund Nowicki, all of South Bend, and Pfc. Charles Nowicki, of Chandler, Ariz.; five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Odor, Mrs. Jane Klimek, Mrs. Marie VanderHeyden, Mrs. Sophie Cherpes and Mrs. Josephine Varga, all of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Antoinette Reyer, of South Bend, and 19 grandchildren. Mrs. Nowicki was a member of the Womens Sodality of Adoration and St. Casimirs Womens Civic club, both of St. Casimirs parish, and the womens auxiliary of Pulaski post 357, American Legion.
