OBITUARY: Michigan City News Dispatch, Michigan City, Indiana, February 10, 1971, P.7.

Carl H. (K.O.) Ulrich, 51, 217 Douglas Ave., died at 7:30 a.m. yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Radke, in Webster, Wis. He had been ill for five years. Funeral services will be here Friday at 2 p.m. at Root Funeral home. The Rev. Paul H. Frankenfeld will officiate. Burial will be in the World War II Veterans Circle in Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Disabled American Veterans post here. The post also will conduct memorial services at the funeral home at 7:30 Thursday evening. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow afternoon and evening and Friday until the hour of services. Mr. Ulrich, who was a painter at Ulrich Paint & Glass Co. for 26 years, was a lifetime resident of this city. He was born Aug. 18, 1919, the son of Charles and Clara Komnatzke Ulrich. On May 22, 1938, he was married to Lorraine Wardean, who survives. Also surviving are three sons - Carl Jr., James and Jack, all of this city; three daughters - Mrs. Carol Johnson and Mrs. Carla Baker, both of this city, and Mrs. Radke; two grandchildren; three brothers - Robert and Ralph, both of this city, and Fred of Long Beach; and three sisters - Mrs. Norman Haack and Mrs. Thomas Pearce, both of this city, and Mrs. Clara Hann, Erwin, Tenn. A veteran of World War II, he was a past commander of the DAV and was a past second junior commander in the state DAV organization. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
