SOUTH BEND - David M. Lapczynski, 68, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Healthwin Specialized Care. David was born on January 8, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee and was adopted as an infant to the late Alex and Carrie (Sniadecki) Lapczynski. David grew up in a close-knit Polish family. He attended St. Anthony De Padua Catholic School, played football at St. Joseph High School, and graduated from Indiana University in 1982. David lived most of his life in South Bend where he was a teacher and basketball coach at Schmucker Middle School. He loved spending time with family, shopping at thrift stores, and enjoyed drinking coffee with friends at Martin's on Ironwood. David is survived by daughter, Carrie (Rick) LaMar of Naperville, IL and son, Kyle (Erin) Lapczynski of Griffith, IN; and granddaughters, Bailey and Brooklyn LaMar of Naperville, IL. Visitation for David will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018, with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road.
