Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Orvan S. Floor Jr., 72, of Elwood Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, in Hospice House.

He was born on March 6, 1932 in Akron, Ind., to the late Orvan S. Floor Sr. and Vera (Martin) Floor.

Mr. Floor served in the United States Navy from 1950 until 1954 on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier. He was a member of American Legion Pulaski Post #357. Mr. Floor retired in 1995 from Burns Security at Simplicity Pattern in Niles, Mich., where he was employed for 17 years.

On July 7, 1962, he married Virginia (Kalebic) Floor, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Jerome Floor of South Bend, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Georgette Womack and Roberta L. (Patrick) Ciesiolka, both of South Bend, Ind.; a stepson, Mark Kalebic of South Bend, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Deborah (John) Foster, Tricia Belstra, Patrick (Jamie) Miller, Sarah (Mark) Brown, Peggy (Mike) Rouff, Tina Butler, Joseph (Jennifer) Butler, Zack Kalebic, Ashton Reece, 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Phyllis Munson of Warsaw, Ind., Norma Barr of Ohio, Cleo Hall and Martha Howard, both of South Bend, Ind., and by a brother, James Floor of South Bend, Ind.

A daughter, Vicki Lucy; a granddaughter, Erin Lucy; four sisters, and one brother, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, where members of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357 will conduct military services. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to hospice of St. Joseph County or to the charity of the donor's choice.
