[N7453] Virginia M. Floor, 84, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday March 28, 2009, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was born on December 26,1924, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Constance (Piechorowski, nee Janowiak) Piasecki, and was a lifelong area resident. On July 7, 1962, as Virginia Kalebic, she married Orvan Floor, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2004. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Kalebic in 1949; a son, Mark Kalebic in 2006; a step-daughter, Vicki Lucy; a granddaughter; Erin Lucy; six sisters, Esther Prentkowski, Harriet Kolupa, Irene Siderets, Elenor Dixon, Sophie Hecklinski and Clara Gum; and by a brother, Frank Piechorowski.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Georgette (Jim) Flowers, and Roberta L. (Patrick) Ciesiolka, both of South Bend; her step-son, Jerome Floor of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Deborah (John) Foster of Niles, MI, Tricia Belstra of Thornton, CO, Patrick Miller Jr of Mishawaka, IN, Sarah Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Peggy (Mike) Ruoff of Valporaiso, IN, Tina (Alex) McVay, Joseph (Jennifer) Butler and Zack Kalebic, all of South Bend; 16 great-grandchildren, John C. Foster, Joana and Kyle Belstra, Patrick III, Nicole, Paige and Kylea Miller, Haley, Savanah, Damien, Preston and Alesha Ruoff, Ashley Espich, Jacquelyn and Joseph Butler and Zoe Brown; two sisters, Betty Lou Harman of South Bend and Josephine (Marcel) Coryn of Mishawaka; and by a sister-in-law, Martha Howard of Lakeville, IN.

Mrs. Floor worked for the University of Notre Dame, South Bend Toy, South Bend Lathe and in 1954 started at Uniroyal and worked for 20 years, making material for fuel cells, before retiring in 1975. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and used to bowl on the Uniroyal Co-Ed League. Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially loved to take them fishing on Hudson lake and to Cubs games. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Thursday April 2, 2009, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday April 3, 2009, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
