Mary Jane Levendoski, 78, of South Bend, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009, in her home. She was born on August 17, 1930, in LaPorte, IN, to the late Michael and Mary (Samys) Surowiec, and had lived in the area all of her life. Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Robert W.; two daughters, Jane M. (Paul) Bock of Naperville, IL, and Joan C. (David) Potts of Lexington, KY; four sons, David W. (Wanda) of South Bend, Robert J. (Korrine) of Mansfield, OH, Richard M. of Columbus, OH, and Joseph W. (Anne) of New Berlin, WI; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Irene Surowiec, and a brother, Richard (Carol) Surowiec, both of LaPorte. Mrs. Levendoski was a parishioner of Christ the King and St. Hedwig Catholic Churches, both in South Bend. She enjoyed listening to Polka Party on Sunday mornings, especially because her oldest son, David, hosted the morning program. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM today, February 12th, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, February 13th, in Christ the King Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
