ARTHUR J. TETZLAFF

SOUTH BEND - Arthur J. Tetzlaff, 94, of South Bend, IN passed away at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Arborwood Living Center, Granger. He was employed for 41 years at the Campbell Box and Tag Company, a subsidiary of Stone Container. He retired from the Barger Packaging Corporation in Elkhart as a die maker after ten years of service. He was born on October 7, 1913, in South Bend, IN to Reinhold O. and Minnie (Eichorst) Tetzlaff and was a lifelong area resident. On October 10, 1936, in South Bend, IN he married Leone K. (Rohleder) Tetzlaff. Leaving behind to cherish precious memories are his wife, Leone of 71 years ; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur L. and Joyce Tetzlaff of Stevensville, MI; and a daughter-in-law, Karyl Sue Tetzlaff of South Bend; four grandchildren, Jill (Robert) Bonnell of Mishawaka, James (April) Tetzlaff of Stevensville, MI, Marnie (Charles) Lawrence of Brooklyn, NY and Tina Tetzlaff of Charlestown, IN; seven great- grandchildren, Zachary, Corey, Benjamin, Jacob, Jason, Damon and Kasi; and one great-great-grandchild, Sabastian. His parents; brothers, Elmer Tetzlaff and Charles Tetzlaff; a son, Gary Tetzlaff; and a grandson, Richard Tetzlaff all preceded him in death. Special thanks to Hospice Home Health Care. Art was a third generation member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. He had been a foster parent; a member of the South Bend Mannaechor Club; a member of Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department; member of Local #312-United Papermakers and Paperworkers of America of which he was the Financial Secretary for many years. He was also a member of Boy Scouts of America; Republican Club; D F V German Club; Crumstown Black Hawks baseball team and the St. Peter's church softball team. Private burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend followed by Memorial services at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN. Dr. William Wassner will officiate. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Arthur H.
