Rev. Otto E. Dorsch, 76, of Zanesville, died at 6:24 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at his residence. Rev. Dorsch was born in Mishawaka on Jan. 20, 1934, to Freidrich G. and Bertha (Muthreich) Dorsch. He obtained a BA degree from Valparaiso University in 1959 and his Masters of Divinity from Hamma School of Theology in Springfield, Ohio. He was ordained into the ministry of the Indiana Synod of the United Lutheran Church in 1962. He served at Zion and Fair Haven Churches at Mulberry, Grace and Augustana Lutheran Churches in Sheyenne, N.D. The American Lutheran Church in Webster, S.D., Redeemer Lutheran Church in Somerset, Ky. and Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland. He also served as a chaplain at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne and at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wells County from 1988 to 2004. He was also an interim pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church in Bluffton. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Barbara Dorsch of New Haven and Christine “Chris” Gruber of Houston, Texas; one son, Kevin (Julie) Dorsch of Ohio City, Ohio; his very special companion, Edna Krider of Fort Wayne; one brother, Henry F. Dorsch; one sister, Gertrude Waschkies; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Vonesh officiating. Burial is at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
