===============
On Sep. 14, 1914, Rev. Alex Varlaky, married Stephen Vucskics, 22, son of George and Anne Vida Vucskics, and Elizabeth Kara, 21, born to Andrew & Mary Feher Kara, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana. (Records of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana, as transcribed by Chris Kovach in "Hungarian Immigrant Collection" on St. Joseph Co. INGenWeb)
The marriage applications they filed with the county include the following information: Elizabeth Kara, employee at the Oliver Corp. and resident of South Bend, was born Oct. 18, 1892 in Hungary to Andrew & Mary (Whit) Kara. Steve, a laborer and resident of South Bend, was born Mar. 17, 1892 in Hungary to Geo. & Anna (Wedin) Vucskics. It was the first marriage for both of them. (images of marriage records, fmilysearch.org)
At the time of the 1920 census of South Bend, Steve and Lizzie Vuckies (sic) and their children, Steve and Mary, were living with her father, Andrew Kara. The 1930 census lists the household of Stephen Vucskics (sic) a painter for an auto manufacturer, his wife Elizabeth, their three children: Stephen, Mary, and George, and Elizabeth's sister, Julia Kara.
Elizabeth died in 1935. Her date and place of death are given in her Indiana death certificate for which the informant was her husband, Stephen Vucskics. It was his understanding that she had been born Oct. 18, 1893 in Hungary to Andrew & Mary (Feher) Kara.
