SOUTH BEND - Joan T. Schermerhorn, 84, of Regency Place, formerly of Rose Street, died of natural causes at 10 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Schermerhorn was born March 8, 1909, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On April 20, 1940, in South Bend, as Joan T. Wroblewski, she married John C. Schermerhorn. He died in 1974. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Norma Schermerhorn of South Bend; two grandchildren, Luella Fogarty and Kevin Schermerhorn, both of South Bend; and three great-grandchildren. A son, Leonard, died in 1978.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to REAL Services.
