South Bend Tribune 9/27/1971 & 9/28/1971 Mishawaka--Mrs. August Speybroeck, 73, of 517 W. 10th Street, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday in St. joseph Hospital following an illness of 11 weeks. She was born Oct. 18, 1889(1898) in Kasselar, Belgium and as Melvina De Roo, married Mr. Speybroeck June 9, 1917. He survives with a son, Cyril Speybroeck of Mishawaka, and four daughters, Mrs. Harold Schafer, Mrs. Bernard Gerstbauer, Mrs. john Cackowski and Mrs. Harry Van Vooren, all of Mishawaka, one brother, Morris De Roo of Jeannette, Ontario, Canada and a sister Mrs. Henry Ruyling of Mishawaka.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10a.m. in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be said at 7:30p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rehabilitation Center, Division for the blind.
