John H. Cook, 76, of 315 W. Crawford St., was dead on arrival at 12:11 p.m. Thursday at General Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was born Nov. 15, 1904, in Elkhart and married Mary V. Ripoli June 28, 1947, in Elkhart. She survives wit two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Nancy) Jarnecke, Cassopolis and Mrs. H. Timothy (Carol) Markley, Elkhart, three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. R.W. (Pansy) Lerner, Elkhart.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Msgr. J. William Lester will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. He retired as a machinist in September, 1969, was a member of the church and formerly employed with Penn Central Railroad Co. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
