ELKHART - Friends of Mary V. Cook may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Peter Kaija officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. Mrs. Cook, 78, of 1001 W, Hively Ave., died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 10, 1998) at Rosewood Terrace, where she had lived since April 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jarnecke of Richmond, Va., and Carol Markley of Elkhart; three grandchildren; a sister, Rose Hannon of Phoenix; and one brother, Daniel Ripoli of Elkhart. A sister, Julie Ripoli and a brother, Joseph Ripoli are deceased. Mrs. Cook worked as a secretary at Adams & Westlake Ltd. from 1940 until 1947. She was a volunteer worker at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in the early 1980s and attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Memorials may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
