GRANGER - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Horvath, 93, residing in Granger, passed away at 1:15 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Hearth at Juday Creek. She was born December 20, 1921 in South Bend to the late Michael P. and Ethel (Vargo) Nemeth, and remained a lifelong area resident. On May 20, 1950 in South Bend, Betty married Ernest A. Horvath, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2013 after nearly 63 years of marriage. She was also preceded by a brother, Alex Nemeth. Betty is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Gary) Gaskill of Niles, MI and Kathleen Rose Gamble of Birmingham, AL; one son, Ernest (Brenda) Horvath, Jr. of Wachahachie, TX; five grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph and Jonathan Horvath, and Andrea and Andrew Gamble; two great-grandchildren, Ashdyn and Michael Gamble; and one brother, Michael (Barb) Nemeth of South Bend. Memorial services for Betty will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Her son-in-law, Gary Gaskill, will officiate. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to services in the funeral home.
