[N5154] RANDY L. BAILEY, 59, of Walkerton, passed away at 5:32 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Indiana University Health, LaPorte Hospital. Mr. Bailey was born on February 1, 1953 in South Bend to the late WALKER AND CLARA (LASKOWSKI) BAILEY. He has been a lifelong area resident. Along with his wife, Kathy, survivors include his four daughters, RASHEL MICHAELIS, RENEE BAILEY AND RENISSA (JEFF) BAILEY-WORTHINGTON, all of Walkerton, and ORIE (MASAHIRO) HARADA of Japan; five grandchildren, SAMANTHA SLITER, DAKOTA BAILEY, SYDNEY ROZINSKI, CODIE MICHAELIS, AND RIKU HARADA; brother, BRIAN (KAREN) BAILEY of North Liberty; and his father and mother-in-law, FORREST AND MADELINE TRUE of Tennessee. MR. BAILEY proudly served his country with the United State Army during the Vietnam War in Special Forces, and airborne. He held a Federal Firearms License and was a collector of Curios and Relics. Mr. Bailey was also a member of the National Rifle Association, Walkerton Historical Society and American Legion of Walkerton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty. Richard Solloway will officiate. Military honors will follow at the funeral home. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday. Contributions in memory of Randy L. Bailey may be offered to the family for a special memorial fund to be determined, c/o Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty, IN 46554.
