Carolyn S. Wilson, 64, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Signature Healthcare. Carolyn was born on March 26, 1955 in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Edward Andrzejewski and Marilyn Joyce (Handshaw) Andrzejewski. She attended Saint Monica Catholic Elementary School and Marion High School, graduating in 1973. She received her bachelor’s degree in special education from Indiana University South Bend and her master’s degree in social work from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. For many years, she worked as a special education teacher at LOGAN, and later, she was a social worker at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The joy of her heart was spending time with her family and friends, especially her partner, Inocenia Marccucci (Jane). She loved living in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the past twelve years, where she enjoyed relaxing by playing a game of Scrabble. Carolyn enjoyed coaching and playing softball and volleyball, and also participated in dragonboat racing to support cancer research. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Taryn (Thomas) Hagedorn of South Bend; son, Bret (Lynn) Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Zachary Hagedorn, Seth Hagedorn, Haley Wilson, and Braylon Wilson. She is also survived by her brothers, Philip (Adrian) Andrezejewski of Mishawaka, and David (Jeanne) Andrzejewski of Frisco, Texas. A service celebrating and remembering the life of Carolyn S. Wilson will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, IN 46635, where friends may gather with the family from 1:00-3:00pm prior to the service.
