Harry H. Hively, 82, of Venice, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home with family, Wednesday, Sept. 7. He was born in Goshen, Indiana, on Feb. 24, 1934, to the late Harvey and Iona (Drudge) Hively. He later married his college sweetheart, Shirley (Bogart) in 1960. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; daughter, Beth (Frank) Pocza, Venice; son Brad (Pam) Hively, Fort Wayne, Indiana; and grandsons Benjamin and Nicholas Hively. Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Bette Stahl; and grandson, Samuel Hively. He graduated from Goshen HS in 1952, where he was on the varsity teams in football and basketball. He was in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from WMU in 1960. He worked at Miles, then Jayco, for many years, and retired as payroll manager. He enjoyed his grandsons, fishing, sports and attending Granger Comm. Church. He was a great friend to many and a loving husband, father and grandfather. No services are scheduled. A private family celebration of life will be held in Venice. Memorials can be made to Tidewell Hospice in Venice or Granger Comm. Church, Elkhart, Indiana.
