Virginia Nowaczewski, 89 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 28, 2022 at her residence. Virginia was born January 24, 1933 in South Bend to the late John and Mary Ann (Dyszkiewicz) Losicki. On September 6, 1952 in South Bend, Virginia married the love of her life, Michael Nowaczewski, Sr., who precedes her in death. Virginia is also preceded in death by her siblings, Frances, Harry, Evelyn, and Irvin. Left to cherish the memory of Virginia are her children, Mike (Liz) Nowaczewski, Jr., Vivian (Kelly) Nowaczewski; and her granddaughter, Sara (Brad) Thompson. Virginia was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. She was known as her neighborhoods Buscia, as well as her families. She loved spending time with her family - it was her most cherished moments. Buscia remained fiercely independent until her final days - even mowing multiple acres on her tractor during the summer. Her family will eternally miss seeing her “nests” of cook books tucked around the house, her Apple slices and peanut butter cake, and, most of all, her hysterical sense of humor and echoing laughter. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd., South Bend. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family starting at 11:00am on Friday.
