================

Olga was born to German immigrant parents, one year after her parents arrived in Indiana. She was educated, could read, write, and was bilingual in German and English. She married Maynard Jacob Correll in 1912, after he promised to build her a house, which was well under construction when they married. In this home, she birthed all of her children. When the struggles of the depression hit, and she had many mouths to feed, she tended daily to her garden, and raised chickens, made bread, and sewed clothes for her children. She lost the house her husband had built during the depression, and moved the family to a run down rental without any heat but a wood stove on the first floor.
Later, when her husband secured work with Studebaker, he built her another house, where she resided until 1982, when she could not live alone any longer. Her daughter, Caroline, had helped her as much as possible, but she required more assistance. An auction was held, and her belongings were sold off. She moved to California to live with her daughter, Shirley whom she was with until death. Olga had developed life threatening Celiac-Sprue in 1976, when she almost died. She went off all wheat products and her health improved. When she turned 94, she decided she couldn't live forever and wanted to enjoy many goodies she had missed throughout life. She died just a few months later from complications of Celiac-Sprue. Olga had no other health problems, and was sharp as a tack, playing scrabble, and working the New York crosswords until her death. She spent much time talking about family, life, relationships, and struggles. She is what made Genealogy come alive.
