Karen L. Blume, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital at the age of 67. Karen was born in Alton, Illinois, to the late Theodore F. and Sonia M. (Nottoli) Armes on March 12, 1954. Karen worked in the healthcare industry as a nurse, providing care for the residents of the nursing homes where she worked. As a daughter of Christ, she was an active member of Southgate Church, where she was loved by her bible study group and enjoyed the activities that she did with them. She also enjoyed going to the beach with her friends and, above all, valued time spent with her family. Karen is survived by her daughters, Maria (Curt) Korby of Rochester, IN, Sarah DeMeyer of South Bend, and son, Matt Bice of Mishawaka. She also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Grace, Cody, Gabriella, Elisabeth, Elena, William, Ashlynn, Riley, and 2 great grandchildren, Tanner and soon to be born, Quinn. She is also survived by her sisters, Teddy Harrison of Florida, Lorene Armes (Carol Mathis) of Portugal and Janet (Don) Tidrick of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tonya. Funeral services for Karen will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Southgate Church, 3717 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Graveside service and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.
