COLUMBUS, OH - Catherine Elizabeth Shumate-Michaluk, age 51, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. Catherine entered into this world on July 14, 1965, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Sheridan and Joyce (Long) Shumate. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Catherine will be missed by her two sons: Ryan and Vince Palumbo of Mishawaka, Indiana; her brother: Steve (Laura) Shumate of New Carlisle, Indiana; two sisters: Roni Hobkirk of South Bend, Indiana, and Shelly (Skip) Peffley of Edwardsburg, Michigan. Friends and family can come to honor Catherine's life on Friday, July 21, 2017, starting at 1 pm to 2 pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
