Mishawaka- Joyce Ann Kline, 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 19 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Joyce was born on April 24, 1942 in Marion Ohio to Clifford and Elizabeth (Miller) Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Long; her first husband, Sheridan Shumate and her second husband, Vaughn Kline. Surviving are her children, Veronica Hobkirk of South Bend, Shelly (Skip) Peffly of Edwardsburg, MI, Catherine (Terrance) Michaluk of Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Canada and Steve (Laura) Shumate of New Carlisle, IN; five grandchildren, Vince and Ryan Palumbo, Kyle and Cris Shumate and Trevor Peffly; five sisters, Violet Mutters of Delaware, OH, Patricia Gruber of Marion, OH, Melinda Zehendner of Marion, OH, Francis Ayers of Mt. Pilot, NC and Marsha Lee of Columbus, OH and a brother Marvin Long of Avon Park, FL. Joyce worked in Health Care for many years taking care of people in their homes and then for the Logan Center. Joyce was a very loving, caring and kind person which was why she chose to work in Health Care; it was the perfect profession for her. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society for many years.Family and friends can visit on Friday, May 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 in the funeral home with Rev. Erv Mize officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Osceola.
