Richard Lee Fisher, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away early Sunday morning, January 15th in his residence. He was born in Huntington, IN on January 13, 1932 to the late Raphael E. and Catherine I. (Divelbiss) Fisher. Richard served his county during the Korean War, serving in the US Army, and was honorably discharged in 1954. On July 30, 1955, in the Riverpark United Methodist Church he married Rose Mary Poglese, and they shared 56 years together. He worked at Ball Band, where he met his wife. From Ball Band he went to work at Bendix Missile Company, Adams and Westlake, then at Dodge Corp. for 17 years. Richard retired in 1997 from the Excel Corp., where he was part of the Belvedere Division. He was a member of the VFW post 360, the Masonic Lodge 130, and served on the Board of Directors at Taper Lock Credit Union in Mishawaka for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church, since 1984. Richard enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing, and working on cars. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time surrounded by his family. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Fisher, along with their three children; Vicki (Kurt) Swadener, of Indianapolis, Richard Allen (Lori) Fisher, of Osceola, and Linda (Robert) Kowalinski, of Mishawaka. He was a grandfather of 10 children and a great-grandfather of 14 children. Richard is also survived by a brother; Lawrence (Sharon) Fisher, of Mishawaka, and two sisters; Bonnie (Mike) Bailey, of Ohio, and Erma (Homer) Lambright, of Goshen. Richard was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Fisher, a sister, Betty Craig, and a brother, Charlie Fisher, who passed away at the age of one. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 18th from 5 until 7, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service. A service celebrating Richard's life will be held in the funeral chapel at 11am, Thursday, January 19th, with Pastor Bob Vale officiating. Burial is to follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
