SOUTH BEND - Barbara Ann Vida, 54, of Cottage Grove Avenue, South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at her residence. Barbara was born August 12, 1961 in South Bend, IN to Frank and Mary (Kalber) Vida, Jr., both of whom preceded her in death along with a daughter, Demetries Anderson. She graduated from New Prairie High School in 1981. She worked for over 25 years as a manager in the laundry industry. Her passions were animals, Elvis Presley, her grandchildren and Native American collectibles. She was a strong, brave, proud and direct person. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her son, Jason (Shalonda) Vida, Sr., her daughter, Tanesha Vida, 11 grandchidren, Jason, Jr., Journey, Jamyla, Justice, Jayden, Tianna, Michael, Jr., Irianna, Isaac, Xamari and Sa'Roya; three sisters, Tina Kalber all of South Bend, IN, Theresa (Brian) Rowe of New Carlisle, IN and Dorothy (Isaac) Vida of Houston, TX, one brother, Michael (Kim) Vida, Sr. of Hudson Lake, IN; three considered siblings, Helene Hopkins, Nicolle Kalber and Andre Butler all of South Bend, IN, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., at Alford's Mortuary, with viewing occurring from 10:00 a.m. to noon.Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary.
