Julius L. Meuninck

MISHAWAKA - Julius L. Meuninck, 92, passed away at home in Mishawaka. Julius was born on November 30, 1921, to the late Ernest Meuninck and Mary Martens. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chuck, Al, Rudy, Fred and Ernie. On October 10, 1942, in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, he married his high school sweetheart, Harriet Eileen O'Dell. Julius is survived by his loving wife, Harriet; two daughters, Susan (Robert) Peterson of Mishawaka and Kerry (John) Mase of Alpena, MI. He is proud of his three grandchildren, Rhonda Mathes, Robert and Eric Petersen; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Mathes, Kelsey McFadden, Eric and Jacob Petersen; and his only sister, Genevieve Goyles of Mishawaka. Julius "Zuke" proudly served his country during WW II in the C.B.I. Theatre of Operations. He retired as a salesman from NIPSCO after 25 years. Julius was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent 47 years at Long Lake in MI. He also spent 21 winters at Jensen Beach, FL. Julius was a member of the Exchange Club and a member of DeAmicis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, in the funeral home, with Chaplain David Howe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Military Rites by VFW Post 360/American Legion 161 burial team. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 826 W.
