SOUTH BEND - Christ (Chris) P. Bouris, 83, of South Bend, formerly of Granger, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Darden House in Roseland, Indiana. Chris was born July 7, 1933, in Stadio, Greece, to the late Petros and Coola (Kostantopoulos) Bouris. On February 19, 1961, in South Bend, Chris married Peggy Argetakes, who passed away on June 22, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his brothers - Gus Bouris, of Greece and John Bouris, of Illinois. Chris is survived by his son, Peter (Jennifer) Bouris of Granger, grandson, Kieran Bouris, and sister, Popi Sarantopoulos of Greece. Chris, along with his wife Peggy, were the co-owners of Bouris restaurant in Niles, Michigan for many years. Chris was also a member of Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, and the Order of The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA). Chris loved his church and devoted much of his time and effort in assisting a great many of St. Andrew's fund drive functions - most notably applying his talents and experience as the wonderful restaurant chef he was. More importantly, Chris was the consummate family man and generous to a fault. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family as one of the kindest, humblest, most decent men they have ever known. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13th, at Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 N. Ironwood Drive, with Rev. George Konstantopoulous officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. today, October 12th, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
