SOUTH BEND - Gloria Dombrowski, 83, passed away peacefully at 12:15 pm Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Gloria was born August 2, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Sylvester and Helen (Pawlak) Karbowski. On February 1, 1964, in South Bend, Gloria married John J. Dombrowski Jr., who preceded her in death on June 20, 2002. Gloria was also preceded in death by her sons, Patrick Dombrowski, Jimmy Gundeck and Eugene Gundeck Jr. Survivors include children, Robert (Polly) Gundeck of South Bend, Deborah Williams of Memphis TN, Sheila Ward of Mishawaka, Melody Mize of South Bend, Judy (Michael) Danch of South Bend; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria worked for many years at Joe's Tavern and Anchor Inn. She loved to cook, especially traditional Polish dinners. She enjoyed people, music, comedies and most importantly animals. If ever a stray crossed her backyard it left with a full belly. Gloria held a special place in her heart for dogs. She will be remembered for her smile and funny comments. A private chapel service for Gloria will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's & Dementia Services, 922 E.
