Anna Morfettas, 104, of Granger, Ind., died following an illness at 8:40 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, with her family in Hospice House. Mrs. Morfettas was born February 14, 1901, in Patras, Greece, to Peter and Katina Andriopoulos, and had lived in the Michiana area since 1951, coming from Chicago, Ill. On Nov. 14, 1920, in Chicago, she married Andrew Morfettas, who preceded her in death January 28, 1956. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie Poulos, and by a brother, Soterius Andriopoulos. She is survived by three daughters, Kay Morfettas of Granger, and Bertha (James) Zeinis and Anna Moskolis, both of South Bend; four grandchildren, John (Jean) Poulos of Jensen Beach, Fla., James (Susan) Moskolis of Granger, Sam Moskolis of South Bend and Kathy St. John of Granger; seven great-grandchildren, Louis J. (Sandy) Poulos, Becki (Doug) Franson, Andrew (Christina) Poulos, Nathaniel M. Moskolis, Alysia Moskolis, Gabriel Moskolis and Nicholas Moskolis; and two great-great-granddaughters, Rebecca Poulos and Lauren Franson. Mrs. Morfettas was faithful member of St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church since 1951 where she participated in the Good Samaritan Club of the church for many years and was active in many facets in the life of the church. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9th, in St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 Ironwood Drive, with Rev. George Konstantopoulous officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 8th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46635; or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
