[N6113] Kevin Van De Voorde
Nov. 16, 1957 - June 7, 2013
MISHAWAKA - Kevin Van De Voorde, 55, of Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, June 7th, at 12 pm in his residence. Kevin was born on Nov. 16, 1957, in South Bend, IN, as the son of Albert and Darlene (Golubski) Van De Voorde. He is survived by his parents, Albert and Darlene Van De Voorde of Mishawaka; one sister, Vicki (Charles) Burkowski of Danville, IL, two nephews, one niece and one great-niece. Kevin battled for sixteen years with Multiple Sclerosis. His deep devotion and his strong faith helped him through the difficult times during his illness. He was very knowledgeable in theology. Kevin was known for his compassion to his family and friends. Kevin worked for the Ice House Restaurant at the 100 Center for a short time. He then worked at the Boiler House Flix Movie Theater as a projectionist for ten years and then went on to manage the 100 Center Hi Rise for seniors for three years. Kevin was very proud that he worked at Notre Dame on the stadium crew and helped line the football field. He loved Notre Dame in general, especially the football games and the Grotto. He was honored to have known Father Theodore Hesburgh. Kevin also enjoyed praying with the Sisters of St. Francis Convent on Dragoon Trail. He was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, and his dog "Yanie" will miss the fun runs at Rose Park. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends. Per Kevin's wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Kevin requested that you remember him in your faith and hearts. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, is entrusted with final arrangements.
