Sister Luciana CSC, of the Sister of the Holy Cross, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon in St. Patrick's Convent in East Chicago Ind. She was born Eleanora Jakubowicz in South Bend. She attended St. Hedwig School and entered the congregation of the Holy Cross in 1915, receiving the habit the same year and making her profession of final vows in 1921. During her community life she was assigned to St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise, Idaho; St. Joseph Orphanage, Washington DC; St. Angela Academy, Morris, Ill.; St. Hedwig School, South Bend; St. Vincent School, Elkhart; and for the past 13 years at St. Patrick School in East Chicago. The body will be brought to Saint Mary's Convent Friday afternoon. Friends may call in the convent parlor. Requiem high mass will be at 7 a.m. in the convent.
