[N137] When Maryanna came to the USA she traveled on a ship making its 4th voyage abt 1872 -73. Being single she lived at a boarding house on Lincoln Way West in South Bend and also in Niles. When she married George he worked in North Liberty for $0.50 per day. They saved enough money to buy a ten acre farm, a horse and cow.
