PLANT WORKER DIES SUDDENLY
A.J. VanBruaene, Aged 64, Suffers Heart Attack.
Achiel J. VanBruaene, aged 64, of 618 West Seventh street, who moved here 40 years ago from Belgium, died suddenly of a heart ailment at 7:30 a.m. today while working as a millwright in the Ball-Band plant. He had reported for work a half hour earlier and had complained of no illness. Mr. Van Bruaene was born in Ruysseldge, Belgium, March 17, 1886. He married Miss Marie Byl in Mishawaka May 17, 1913. Besides the widow he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Julius Maenhout, of Mishawaka, Mrs. Louis Horvath and Mrs. Leo Bieganski, of South Bend, and Miss Darlene, at home; three brothers, Thyphon Van Bruaene, of Peoria, Ill., Adolph Van Bruaene, of East Moline, Ill., and Victor Van Bruaene, of Mishawaka; and a sister, Mrs. Lonie Lava, of Jessup, Ia. Friends may call at Devos funeral home Tuesday and until the funeral arrangements which are incomplete. He was a member of the Broderenkring club.

Funeral services for Achiel J. VanBrueaene, aged 64, of 618 West Seventh street, who died suddenly at 7:30 p.m. Monday while at work at the Ball-Band plant, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Devos chapel, Rev. Otto J. Keller, pastor of St. Bavo’s Catholic church, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Catholic cemetery. In listing the survivors in The Tribune Monday the names of two sons, Maurice and Leroy VanBrueaene, both of Mishawaka and three grandchildren were omitted. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. South Bend Tribune Nov 22, 1950
