Nellie J. Wisniewski, 92 of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 6, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Wisniewski was born on Oct. 18, 1904, in Rolette City, N.D. On April 18, 1923, in South Bend, as Nellie J. Noel, she married Joseph L. Wisniewski, who preceded her in death in September 1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Cherry in 1994. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Sikorski and Jean Gruza, both of South Bend; two sons, Fred Wisniewski of South Bend and Art Wisniewski of Niles, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wisniewski was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and of the Rosary Society of the church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Reverend Terry Place officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
