ELKHART - Brian F. Konarski, 63, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, in his home. He was born Aug. 10, 1954, in Gary, to Frank and Delores (Gushrowski) Konarski. He married Lynda K. Kloth on Oct. 13, 1979, in Merrillville. She died March 27, 2008. Surviving are two sons, Brett Konarski of Mishawaka and Kyle Konarski of Noblesville; two daughters, Christa (John) Sweezy of Indianapolis and Kara (Matt) Polston of Carmel; two grandchildren, Caroline Sweezy and Jensen Polston; two brothers, Dave Konarski of Detroit, Michigan and Danny Konarski of Hobart; and a sister, Debbie (Dave) Hutnick of Westville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jackie Hecimovich. Brian graduated from Merrillville High School in 1972 and received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ball State University. He retired as quality engineer from Actia Inc. and had previously worked for Siemens Continental and C.T.S. Corp. Brian was an avid Chicago Bears and Blackhawks fan and loved coaching, fishing and golfing.
