William Hagedorn

SOUTH BEND - William N. Hagedorn, 88, residing in South Bend, passed away at 9:15 PM Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Hospice House in South Bend. On October 22, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Wanda R. Souders. She preceded him in death in 2007. William was born on November 11, 1926. in South Bend. to the late Albert and Ilba (Cato) Hagedorn. William proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a WW II Navy veteran patrolling the Yangtze River in China. William was a member of the American Legion Post #357, NRA, ABATE of Indiana and a HOG member. He retired from Bendix after 40 years of dedicated service as an electronics welder. William attended Faith Christian Chapel in Lakeville. William is survived by his daughter, Peggy Stevens of South Bend; sons, William (Carol) Hagedorn of Mishawaka, Blaine Hagedorn of South Bend; sister Ellen (Jack) Loutzenhizer of Mishawaka, Rosemary Davis of South Bend, Jackie Brabh of Mishawaka; brothers, Paul "Buzz" Hagedorn, Thomas (Betty) Hagedorn, and Ed Hage-dorn, all of South Bend. William is also survived by five grandchildren, Kristy (Mario) Garcia, Rachel Stevens, Charles Stevens, Jonathon Conway and Robert Stevens; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Isabel, Sophia and Alexandrya; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for William Hagedorn will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka, IN 46615, with one hour of visitation prior to services. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend, where Rev. David Herbster will be officiating. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
