SOUTH BEND - Wanda R. Hagedorn, 79, residing in South Bend, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2007, in her home. She was born September 1, 1927, as the daughter of Leonard and Ruby (Strother) Souders, and had lived in the South Bend community most of her life. On November 22, 1948, in Immanuel Baptist Church, Mishawaka, IN, as Wanda Souders, she married William N. Hagedorn. Together, they enjoyed more than 58 years of marriage. Wanda is survived by her loving husband, William, along with a daughter, Peggy Stevens and her husband Charles of South Bend; two sons, William Hagedorn and his wife Carol of Mishawaka, and Blaine Hagedorn of South Bend. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Rachel, Charles, and Robert Stevens, Kristy (Mario) Garcia, and Jonathan Conway; three step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. A sister, Dorothy (Dale) Anthony of South Bend; and a brother, Leonard ©?Skip©? (Jane) Souders of Florence, CO survive Wanda as well. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Hartzke. She was a member of the Mishawaka High School Alumni Association, the Chatterettes of Mishawaka, and the Auxiliary of the Sons of the Legion, Pulaski Post #357. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park.
