Mary Jane Glon

CRUMSTOWN - Mary Jane Glon, 88, was unexpectedly called home to join our heavenly Father on Friday, November 25, 2016 in her home. Mary Jane was born July 15, 1928 in New Carlisle, to the late John and Catherine (Stopczynski) Wroblewski. On May 29, 1948 Mary Jane married Edward Glon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church; he preceded her in death. Mary Jane was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Gorby; grandson, Stephen Glon; and brothers, Stanley, Frank, Joseph and Alex Wroblewski. Survivors of Mary Jane include her children, Kenneth Glon of North Liberty and Linda (David) Runyan of North Liberty; grandchildren, Laura Gorby of North Liberty, Dawn (Jason) Gorby-Verhaeghe of Walkerton, Naoina Glon, David Runyan of Indianapolis and Nicole Runyan of Louisiana; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mary Jane lived on the family farm in Crumstown for 68 years surrounded by wonderful neighbors and friends where she worked hard and raised three children. Mary Jane was always around if you needed a helping hand. She loved to cook for family and passing on her Polish heritage. She was always the life of the party and could make anyone laugh. She enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions, and loved her Polka music and dancing. Mary Jane worked for Raco and St. Joseph County Park. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality. Mary Jane was also a member of the American Legion 284, Chain-O-Lakes and Crumstown Conservation Club. Visitation for Mary Jane will be 2pm to 8pm Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 3pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of her name to a charity of your choice . Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
