EDWARDSBURG - Andrew “Andy” Stasiak, 67, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away Thursday, March, 24, 2016, after a brief battle with brain cancer at his daughter Stacey's home in Oceanside, California. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30-5:30 pm Tuesday, April 19, at The Michiana Walleye Association, 13040 Day Road, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Scattering of ashes will be held at Labyrinth Lake, ON, Canada, in June. Memorials may be made to the Michiana Walleye Association at 574-252-5669, or to the National Brain Tumor Society, www.braintumor.org. Andy was born March 13, 1949, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to Edmund and Gertude (Wiskotoni) Stasiak. He graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1967. On December 31, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia “Cindy” Rutkowski.Andy was employed as a regional delivery driver for Big C Lumber and was a self-employed farmer. He was an avid sportsman loving hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Michiana Walleye Association. He spent most of his weekends fishing, gardening, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. After retirement he purchased a motorhome and traveled the States back and forth to California in the winter to site-see America. He spent his summers in Canada at his lake cabin and on his boat in Lake Michigan. Andy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cindy of Edwardsburg, MI; two daughters, Nichola Stasiak of Edwardsburg, MI and Stacey Stasiak of Oceanside, CA; “The son he never had,” Lorne Comba of Kirkland Lake, ON, Canada; two grandchildren, Dustin and Brenden Pozsgai of Edwardsburg, MI; sister, Lindakay Wood of Sturgis, MI; brother, Edmund Stasiak of Elkhart, IN; and several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Gertude Stasiak; and by a brother, Robert Stasiak of Edwardsburg, MI. Andy will never be forgotten. Published in South Bend Tribune on Apr. 17, 2016
