EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- Gertrude V. "Jean" Stasiak, 82, of May Street, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 6, 2007) in Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital.She was born March 6, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Ignacy and Bertha (Przybylska) Wiskotoni. On April 21, 1947, in Dowagiac she married Edmund J. Stasiak. He died Dec. 28, 1995. She is survived by two sons, Andrew (Cindy) Stasiak of Edwardsburg and Edmund (Chris) Stasiak of Elkhart; one daughter, Linda (Chuck) Wood of Sturgis; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dan Wiskotoni of Florida, Joseph Wiskotoni of Arizona, Norman Wiskotoni of South Bend and Raymond Wiskotoni of Elkhart; and one sister, Alice Richmond of South Bend. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Raymond Stasiak, who died Nov. 2, 1977; one brother, Bert Wiskotoni; and one sister, Florence Bella.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg, where a prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 U.S. 12 E., Edwardsburg, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Joe McCormick, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery. Mrs. Stasiak had lived in the Michiana area all of her life and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg, MI 49112.
