ELKHART - Edward J. Szlanfucht, 93, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Greenleaf Health Campus. He was born May 16, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana to William & Mary Szlanfucht. He married Constance K. Godber on April 20, 1957 in South Bend. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2012 in Elkhart. Ed served his country during WW II in Germany and Austria until his discharge in 1946. He was a teamster for 37 years in South Bend with Local #134. Edward was a member of the Bristol American Legion Post #143. At Ed's request there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. Burial will be private at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Published in South Bend Tribune on Oct. 14, 2013
