SOUTH BEND - Services for Harriett J. Leighty, 76, of Kerlin Drive, Granger, formerly of South Bend, who died at 9:26 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jude's Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Joseph's Mausoleum. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where Golden Cluster of St. Hedwig Catholic Church will say the rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish rosary is planned at 7 p.m. Mrs. Leighty was born June 10, 1914, in South Bend and as a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 23, 1934, in South Bend, as Harriett J. Jerzakowski, she married Raymond Dale Leighty. He died Jan. 6, 1978. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy A. Panis of Granger, and Judith F. Molnar and Susan M. Guifreda, both of LaGrange, Ga; a son, James E. of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren' seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Bartkowiak of South Bend. She was a member of Eagles Lodge 435 Ladies Auxiliary, Hoosier Grandmothers Club, Golden Cluster of St. Hedwig, and Apostleship of Prayer and Harvest House, both of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
