MISHAWAKA, IN - Rolande Lemieux passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and six daughters on Saturday, January 30, 2021 and went to be with the Lord at the age of 92. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gaston (Frenchy) and will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carmen Wertheimer (Dave), Denise McDonald (Dennis), Anita Pattison (Jimmie), Linda Lemieux, Monique DeLee (Phillip), and Claudette Gancarz (Tom), as well as 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rolande was born in Canada in 1928 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1955 after becoming an anesthetist. She married her husband, Gaston Lemieux, and they were long time residents of St. Joseph, MI. She was a loving mother to her children as well as a dedicated professional in her medical field. She loved life and enjoyed judo, hockey, square dancing, camping, cooking, and could bring any plant back to life. Mom and Dad always enjoyed sharing their French-Canadian roots with us in the form of an annual family vacation to be with all our relatives. As a family, we all looked forward to being together at the Blossomtime Parade, Fourth of July, Art Fair, Venetian Festival, and holiday gatherings. Her home was a place where her children and grandchildren created memories of walking the bluff, spending long days on the beaches of Lake Michigan, walking through downtown St. Joe, great family meals, and all the divine chaos of a large close-knit family. A visitation hour will be held on February 5 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius Church, 52553 Road, Granger, IN 46530, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Service can be live-streamed at stpius.net OR facebook.com/stpiusgranger.
