On Nov. 1913, Rev. R. Marciniak, pastor at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana, married "Mandy" Heyse and Sylvester Botka. The marriage applications they filed with the county indicate that Mandy was born Mar 30, 1894 in South Bend to Emil & Anna Heyse, and that Sylvester had been born Dec. 20, 1889 in South Bend to John & Francis Botka. It was the first marriage for both of them.

At the time of the 1920 census of South Bend, Sylvester Botka, wife Wanda, and children Albin and Irvin Botka were living with her mother, Anna Heyse.

The 1930 census indicates that Wanda, then divorced, was living with her mother in South Bend. The 1940 census household of Wanda Botka, then a widow, included sons, Albin and Raymond Botka, and brother-in-law Edward Botka.

Wanda Heyse Botka died May 20, 1968 in South Bend and was interred in St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend. The informant for her death certificate was her husband, Edward J. Botka.

Her obituary, published in the South Bend Tribune on Mon., May 20, 1968, reported that Wanda and Edward J. Botka had married in 1945, that her survivors included her husband and sons, Albin S. and Raymond B. Botka of South Bend, and that her services were held at St. Casimer's Catholic Church.
