SOUTH BEND - Rome C. Baichley, 77, of Jensen Beach, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday in Mariner Healthcare, Palm City, Fla. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - Rome Carl Baichley, 77, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and formerly of South Bend, died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday in Mariner Health Care of Palm City, Fla. Mr. Baichley was a retired shipping clerk for AM General Corp. for 18 years. He was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Logansport, and has resided in South Bend most of his life, moving to Florida in 1990. On Jan. 13, 1938, in South Bend, he married Irma Kertai. She died July 14, 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Rosemay Snyder of South Bend and Irma Jean Poulos of Jensen Beach; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.

Bendix Drive. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.
