NEW CARLISLE - Irene H. Wojcik, 91, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009, in the Hamilton Grove Health Care Center. Irene was born October 16, 1917, in New Carlisle, IN, to Lott and Josie (Jurgonski) Rzepka. On October 18, 1945, Irene married Stanley E. Wojcik. Irene's husband, Stanley, preceded her in death along with a son, George, brothers, Hank and David, and a sister, Henrietta Bazyk. Irene is survived by daughters, Micki Wojcik of South Bend, Judy (Kenton Hall) Wojcik of Muncie, IN, and Janet (Michael) Johnson of Anthony, NM; daughter-in-law, Karen Wojcik; sister, Adeline Solmos of South Bend; and brothers, Bernard, Clem and Norbert Rzepka. Irene was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Rosary. She was also involved with the Crumstown Conservation Auxiliary and the Farmerette Club. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton Grove Health Center's Garden Project, 31869 Chicago Trail, New Carlisle, IN 46552.
