Donna R. Michalski 85 of South Bend passed away on April 9th at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend, following an extended illness. Donna was born in South Bend to the late Fred and Muriel (Swift) Fulton on August 14, 1936. Donna married the late Louis D. Michalski, Sr. on September 25, 1957 in Ohio. She is survived by her children, Lori (Scott) Krempec of South Bend and Louis D. (Diana) Michalski, Jr. of Lawton, MI, her loving grandchildren, Rebecca (Mike) Newport, Brian (Kristen) Michalski and Lauren Krempec and 5 great grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her sisters, Pauline Skibins of South Bend and Violet McDonough of West Palm Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Jacqueline Jacobs and brother, James Fulton. She was employed as a receptionist at Corrugated Paper Company in Mishawaka. Donna loved reading, volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital and several nursing homes, gardening, loved playing cards but especially being with her loving grandchildren. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to the American Heart Association of Northern Indiana, 6100 West 96th Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278. Visitation for Donna will be on Wednesday, April 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home "Southwest Chapel" located at 23421 State Road 23 at West Ireland Road. The funeral service will be on Thursday, April 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Jon McCann officiating. Burial will take place later at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in South Bend.
